At Element Martial Arts Calgary, we believe learning kickboxing should be fun, especially for kids. When training feels like play, kids stay motivated, focused, and excited to come back for more. That’s why we use creative games and drills that keep our young students engaged while they learn real skills.

Here are some of the fun activities we use to make kickboxing enjoyable and rewarding for Calgary kids:

Ninja Obstacle Course

Our ninja-style obstacle course gets kids jumping, crawling, balancing, and striking through a playful challenge. It’s a great way to build agility, coordination, and confidence—all while having fun.

Pad Tag

In Pad Tag, one child wears focus pads while others try to land controlled strikes. Then they switch roles. It’s fast, exciting, and helps kids improve accuracy, timing, and cardio without even realizing they’re training.

Kickboxing Relay Races

Relay races add team spirit and energy to class. Kids work together to complete kicks, punches, crawls, and sprints. These drills build technique through repetition and encourage focus and teamwork.

Balloon Kicks

Kids must keep a balloon in the air using only their kicks—simple, silly, and super effective for balance and control. The slower pace of the balloon also helps them fine-tune their technique.

Focus and Control Games

Games like “Statue Guard” challenge kids to hold strong stances while resisting distractions. These activities teach self-control, focus, and the importance of structure in kickboxing—without it feeling like a lecture.

Why Fun Matters

Every game we play has a purpose. While kids are laughing and moving, they’re also learning discipline, respect, and perseverance. Fun drills help reinforce solid technique while keeping class light and enjoyable.
